My Dell inspiron mini 9 arrived during the week and I eventually got around to installing linux on it last night. I went with Fedora 10 beta which worked nicely. The only things that didn't work out of the box were sound (already documented) and wireless. Swapping out the wireless card for another is dead easy, but it looks like the Intel 3945 I ordered to replace the supplied Broadcom 4312 is busted, so for the moment I'm stuck with the broadcom. Thankfully there is a driver for the Broadcom, saving me from the horrors of ndiswrapper but it needs a patch to build on F-10. Once built the card works happily with NetworkManager.
